Terms & Conditions, Privacy & Consent

The purpose of your registration is to confirm that you freely consent to join The Crooks Project Community Platform and to receive information, intelligence, resources, and training opportunities relating to The Crooks Project and wider fraud, cyber, and safeguarding activity.

1. Purpose of Processing

By registering, you agree that We Fight FinCrime may process your personal data for the following purposes:

Providing intelligence updates on fraud, cybercrime, governance, and risk.
Sharing resources, guidance, and best practice.
Inviting you to workshops, roundtables, consultations, and training.
Contacting you regarding participation in The Crooks Project research, education, and intervention programmes.
Coordinating activity with your Local Authority where relevant.

We will not use your data for any unrelated purpose.

2. Lawful Basis for Processing

Your data will be processed under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) – Consent and you may withdraw your consent at any time.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data will be stored securely within the UK.
Access is restricted to authorised We Fight FinCrime personnel and approved delivery partners supporting The Crooks Project.
We Fight FinCrime does not sell personal data for marketing purposes.
Personal data may be shared with approved partner organisations supporting, delivering, funding, researching, operating, or developing The Crooks Project and The Crooks Project Community Platform.
Where partner organisations act as independent data controllers, they may process personal data in accordance with their own privacy notices, terms and conditions, and lawful basis for processing. Once information has been shared with an independent organisation, that organisation becomes responsible for its own processing activities and compliance with applicable data protection legislation.

4. Data Retention

Your data will be retained only for as long as you remain an active member of The Crooks Project Community Platform or until you withdraw consent. You may request deletion at any time.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Rectify inaccurate data.
Withdraw consent.
Request deletion.
Restrict or object to processing.

You acknowledge that personal data may be shared with approved partner organisations involved in supporting, delivering, funding, researching, operating, or developing The Crooks Project and The Crooks Project Community Platform.
You understand that partner organisations may process information in accordance with their own privacy notices, terms and conditions, and lawful basis for processing.
